Upgrading to Wire Mesh Shelves for European Gondola Systems
Upgrade your retail aisles with heavy-duty wire mesh shelves. Designed for European 50mm pitch systems, offering better lighting, less dust, and massive load capacity.

Every experienced shopfitter knows the headache of solid metal shelves. They block overhead store lighting, casting dark shadows on your lower merchandise, and they act as absolute dust magnets.
For high-traffic supermarkets, liquor stores, and hardware shops, swapping out flat steel for powder-coated wire mesh shelves is the fastest way to cut down daily maintenance while brightening up the entire aisle. Here is a technical look at why wire mesh is becoming the standard for heavy-duty European retail fit-outs.
Ditching the Dust and Shadows
Solid flat shelves require constant wipedowns. Dust, spilled powders from the baking aisle, and paper scraps just sit there.
A wire mesh deck solves this immediately. The open grid allows debris to fall straight through to the base deck, cutting your night crew's cleaning time in half. The open wire design also solves the lighting problem instantly. Overhead canopy lights shine straight down through the decks, meaning your bottom-tier products aren't hiding in the shadows anymore. Customers can actually see what they are reaching for.

Built for Serious Tonnage
You might look at wire and assume it bows under heavy retail loads. It doesn't.
We engineer these decks specifically for the high-volume grocery and liquor sectors. Turn one of these shelves upside down and look at the real engineering. We weld thick, heavy-gauge steel support ribs straight across the bottom of the wire frame. You can load these up with heavy glass liquor bottles, multi-pack sodas, or paint cans, and the shelf will remain dead straight without sagging.

Dropping Straight Into European Systems
We built these strictly to fit European standard 50mm pitch systems, such as Tegometall.
The bracket features a heavy-duty dual-hook design that locks straight into your existing uprights. There are no adapters required and no hammering involved. Your staff can simply hook it in and adjust the shelf angle or height in seconds. Because we run these in all the standard European lengths, you can retrofit an entire store without moving a single upright.

Primary Retail Applications
Where do wire mesh shelves make the biggest impact on the floor?
- Liquor Stores: Ideal for supporting the heavy weight of glass bottles while allowing cool room air to circulate freely around the stock.
- Supermarket Grocery: Perfect for baking and spice aisles where spilled flour or powders usually ruin the look of flat shelves.
- Hardware & Trade: Tough enough to handle tools, hardware boxes, and heavy liquids without scratching and scuffing like painted flat steel.

The Hard Specs
If you need the exact dimensions to map out your next store fit-out, here is what we actually run on the factory floor:
- We cut the lengths to match standard bays, offering 665mm, 1000mm, 1250mm, and 1330mm.
- You can grab them in depths of 300mm, 370mm, 470mm, or a deep 570mm profile.
- Every single deck is built from heavy-gauge wire, completely reinforced with those welded support ribs underneath.
- The standard factory finish is a tough matte black powder coat, but we can definitely do custom spray jobs if you are rolling out a large volume of stores.
Common Questions Before Ordering
Will these fit my existing Tegometall gondolas?
Yes. The bracket hooks are cut specifically for standard European 50mm pitch uprights. They will drop right in.
Can these really hold as much weight as flat metal shelves?
Absolutely. Thanks to those steel ribs welded underneath, the grid stays completely rigid. You can stack them high with canned food, liquor, or heavy hardware without worrying about bending.
What if my shop needs a different color?
Not a problem. While matte black is currently the most popular run for modern store designs, we manage the manufacturing process and can powder-coat them to match your exact corporate colors for bulk rollouts.
